Part of the Listening Well series of workshops

Some people call them 'difficult conversations' or 'uncomfortable conversations'.

They are usually conversations that we are avoiding. Moments when we need to be honest with others. In this workshop we will examine several case studies to help us better handle tender conversations - more honestly, more confidently and with less regret.

This is the single session level 1 course which aims to give participants a basic introduction to pastoral care and covers topics such as good listening and communication, the conversation cycle, and six steps to having a pastoral conversation. It includes things like open and closed questions, affirmation and prayer.

This course supports people in becoming Pastoral Visitors in their parish. Pastoral Visitors can join their parish pastoral care team and with their Vicar's permission may be allocated people to visit who are sick or housebound.

This course may also be suitable for anyone who feels called to have a listening ear, perhaps outside of the church community.

A sister course to the popular and well-established Pastoral Conversations course, this pilot course looks at how to move from the pastoral to the spiritual in a supportive conversation. Part of the Listening Well series of courses.
