This pastoral care course enables those who have successfully completed it to lead, train and deliver excellent pastoral care on behalf of their parish under the supervision of their Vicar. With the right experience and personal gifts they may also supervise a pastoral care team in their parish on behalf of their Vicar.

People who have completed this course will have an in-depth understanding of the pastoral needs of people facing the various stages and challenges life brings.

This course takes place over three terms (two of 8 weeks, four either side of each half-term) and a third term of six weeks after the Pastoral Ministers have been commissioned in their parish during Pentecost Season. 

The second year the pastoral ministers will be active in their parish as well as receiving six additional mentoring and training sessions. On successful completion of both years a certificate will be issued.

This course is intended to equip individuals to be effective Parish Environmental Officers.
